Blossoming Bones
This piece is the torso of an individual. It's skeletal and has contrasting themes as there are flowers (representing life) blossoming from the bones (representing death).
Vulnerability
This was my first time really doing any type of figure painting as well as using paint as my medium. There can definitely be improvements made as far as the proportions go,
Oh the Places You Van-Gogh
This piece combines elements of, and even entire, pieces of famous artwork. The background is like Starry Night by Van-Gogh, which inspired the name.
Per-STEP-tive
This is a drawing of the Metropolitan Art Musuem in New York City. I wanted to do a perspective piece that was different than the typical cityscape 2 point perspective most students stuck to.
Iridescence
I was inspired for this piece when i was sitting under a tree and saw little orbs of light on my paper. I decided to roughly trace them, as well as the shadow of my hair, and color them.
Observational Sketch
This is an observational drawing of a Caprisun. It is a sketch which I am rather proud of.
Iguana
I really enjoy drawing animals because of how much detail and texture each animal has. This monochromatic drawing of an iguana was really fun to draw and I am very happy with how it turned out.
Peacock
This is a water color piece and it is a peacock.
Sail boat
This piece is monochromatic. I created this piece so that i could practice shading and differentiating between values.
Scratch Board Frog
Another animal drawing... Yes. They are my favorite things to draw; I had a lot of fun drawing this frog, and using a new medium.
Geometry
This piece was something completely random and truthfully has no message behind it; it was just therapeutic for me.
Sight Seeing
Ink drawing of various cities of different cultures.

I've never seen you work with painting, but I really like the way that you did your piece called "vulnerability". The style and brush strokes that you used make it really interesting. My only critique would be to add some shadows where the limbs overlap to separate them and to add depth.
ReplyDeleteVulnerability: I really love this piece. The patchy paintings/colors are a style that I genuinely enjoy. Honestly wouldn’t change anything. I love this.
ReplyDeleteI love how you've experimented with different mediums.
ReplyDeleteEven though your proportions can be tweaked in your newest painting, the quality of the highlighting, and use of negative/ positive space is absolutely breathtaking. I love seeing you step outside of what you normally produce, and you've done an excellent job.
